Abstract

The purpose of the research is to clarify the steps for applying the 4Mat system while teaching environmental problems to primary Stage students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, the two researchers used the descriptive approach, and prepared a guide for the steps of applying the 4Mat system to the following two environmental problems: desertification and pollution. It was presented to a group of specialists in the field of curricula and teaching methods to get their approval on the correct wording of educational goals and their relevance to the level of pupils' age, and on the correctness of the steps for applying the 4Mat system to environmental problems. The guide notched 96% of their approval and the two researchers recommended that teachers should be motivated to use the 4Mat system when teaching students and training them on that.
