This study seeks to investigate syntactic meanings related to a word that is structured or derived by the Arabic Language and to which a specific structure or a special term is added. This word is known by Arab grammarian as the link.
Generally, this like is defined as connecting something to something else. In terms of its syntactic meaning, it has different meanings that are attributed to the nature of the link itself, the type of the structure it is used in as well as the real purpose of its derivation. For example, some links have been used to authorize describing definite nouns using sentences; others have been used to describe persons using generic nouns or to authorize the vocative case using the definite marker “alif lam” ال)), while other links have been used to maintain inflection case of a letter, etc.
The majority of links is agreed on by grammarians except very few examples. Acceptable links are governed by certain rules and regulations; these rules are also applied to the words these links are added to. However, when the link or any part of is dropped, it is no longer a link. Links as well as the structure they are connected to should not be dropped so that the purpose of using them is maintained. Nevertheless, some links may be dropped due to a contextual reason, a poetic necessity, or even as a matter of concession or easement.
