Abstract

This is a research that deals with the study and analysis of the image of women in the value conflict within the Saudi novelist narrative, and limits the field of study to the male novelist achievement in order to reveal the methods of novelists' portrayal of women in their struggle against or for inherited values, and also tries to monitor how to draw the character of women within the framework of values and principles, and unveils pressing thoughts and recurring themes in the portrayal of female characters, by tracking a range of these novels issued in the time period between 1999 and 2018, It is a period that witnessed a boom in Saudi fiction, as well as prominent social, cultural, political and economic transformations. The importance of the research is evident in highlighting the image of women as it appears in the fictional imagination of men described by a novelist who draws female characters and impersonates their actions and words in the multiplication of his fictional narrative, and highlights them while they are in a multifaceted struggle with inherited values
