Effectiveness of a Mentoring Program for Developing Emotional Innovation Skills of basic school teachers in the Central Governorate - Gaza

This study aims to test the effectiveness of a counseling program in developing emotional innovation among of the Basic School Teachers in the Central Governorate - Gaza. A semi- experimental design was used through a sample of 40 Teachers. Participant was divided into two groups: experimental and control. A counseling program was designed for the study, and applied on the experimental group, in 12 sessions, as two sessions weekly, each of which lasted for 60 minutes. The study results showed statistically significant differences between the experimental and the control groups in the post test on the emotional innovation among the Basic School Teachers, in favor of the experimental group. Differences between the pre and posttest in the experimental group were also statistically significant, in favor of the post test. Additionally, there were no differences between the post and the follow-up test in the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness of the counseling program in developing the emotional innovation after six weeks of treatment. The results also showed that the impact of the counseling program reached (.893). Based on the results, the study recommends applying the developed counseling program to other communities, and for similar or different counseling purposes.
