Abstract

This article explored the role of educational supervision in enabling the English Language Teachers in the public schools affiliated with Ajloun Directorate of Education to handle challenges. The researcher adopted a descriptive approach. The population consists from all the English language teachers in the public schools affiliated with Ajloun Directorate of Education (i.e. 350 female and male teachers). The sample consists from 65 female and male teachers who were chosen from the population. To meet the study’s goal, the researcher used the interview methods. She found that educational supervisors play a significant role enabling the English Language Teachers in the public schools affiliated with Ajloun Directorate of Education to handle challenges. She found that respondents prefer the conventional teaching methods. She also found that there are defects in the way in which teachers use the modern technologies. She also found that there is a gap between the content of the curriculum and the cognitive abilities of students. She recommends engaging teachers in training courses about the way of using modern technologies in teaching students
