Abstract

This study, entitled as The impact of Smart Mobiles on children's Health and psychology in Deheisha camp in Bethlehem Governorate ,aimed at identifying the negative and positive effects of using smart mobiles. The aim is also to pinpoint the factors which facilitated their spread ,in addition to suggestions preferred by families to overcome these effects .The descriptive survey method was used. The study was conducted on a random sample of families whose children use smart mobiles of different Kinds. The results varied, pertaining to the variables of gender, income, level of education, number of hours   spent using the mobiles and the types of mobile used. Among the negative results ,it turned out that smart mobiles affect memory in the long run, and that they cause headache and play a role in curbing the psychological and intellectual development of children. As for the positive results concluded by the study ,it was found out that smart mobiles help children to have confidence and self-esteem. These mobiles are also considered and important source of learning on the part of children. Moreover, the study results shared with respect to the spread of smart mobiles among children that the family's high income and the governments lack of control on prices of mobiles facilitated their acquisitions and spread among children The least agreed upon paragraph her was the weak control on these mobiles for the families, which was auxiliary in their spread among children. Also among the results were some suggestions made by the families, of which is enhancing the schools controlling and directive role which affects positively the child's life and specifies the objectives of using smart mobiles to gains academic benefits. The least agreed upon paragraph in this regard was developing the children's other interests ,such as playing and visiting parks and public places. However it is noteworthy among the results that parents viewpoint differed on the extent of the benefits their children would gain from having smart mobiles. Some were for ,while other were against .This is due to the extent of awareness and personal convictions these parents have.
